Sweet Essence

I'm an avid reader from; the Bible to C.S Lewis even the smallest of articles will draw me in.  I received my latest magazine, "The Magnolia Journal" by Joanna Gaines and I don't recall ever just reading the articles but this time one of the articles drew me in and truth rang out. The title was,
" Made For This" and I wanted to quote some of it because truth should be shared no matter how small.

"I believe that we're all made ready.
Whatever season you're in, whatever life may throw at you, whether it feels like success or like failure, expected or unexpected, you are made ready. Made ready to learn, to celebrate, to endure.  To handle all of things that get thrown your way in every season and to know yourself and take stock of your resources - of all the beautiful things you're already made of."

"These past few months have made something else come into clear focus for me as well.  Being made ready is not about being  all things to all people at all times.  Actually, it may look quite the opposite.
Sometimes it means acknowledging my lack, understanding my limits, knowing the strengths of those around me, and graciously receiving help when they're willing to step in.

Part of being capable  is surrounding myself with people who are strong where I am weak and willing to lend a hand when I am in need of help. Since Crew 's birth, I have a new understanding of reality of the phrase "it takes a village."

I am thankful for every aspect of having what it takes, as beautiful and painful as it may be.  I love the seasons of hard work and heavy loads because they show me what these arms can carry.  I love seasons of rest and hiddenness' because they reveal the small joys that are only noticed in quiet. I love seasons when I carry others and also when I can allow myself to be carried because I see that no one is meant to bear the burden alone.

Each is right and good and true, and without both, we miss something important that we were created for.  I am definitely not perfect, but I am willing and capable.  And whatever tomorrow may hold, here's what I believe to be true:  I am made ready."

Joanna Gaines.
